Kijiji, Kigamboni, Dar Es Salaam

A gallery of our trip to Kigamboni Beach, Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania in February 2015. 

Mangroves, starfish, jellyfish, and crystal-clear ocean. The place was a dream made in white sand, curvaceous pools, and blinding sunlight by day, and candle lit, circada loud, sparsely populated nights. 

Too bad you can’t check it out: Kijiji – the resort we stayed in – named after the Kiswahili word for for ‘village’ – burned down shortly after we visited.

Welcome to this blog, home to a collection of my personal journals. The posts on this site were written between 2014 and 2019 when I was in the wind with no fixed abode. What precious times and when we were all much younger! Where does the time go? Since then I've had no time to write for myself or even consider what it is I need to do in this world beyond earning a crust, and I dare say most of what you find here is severely out of date. I'm keeping this space for the domain name and posterity. Almost deleted it recently to save £40 a year (who doesn't need that?) but glad I didn't even though former selves will always make present selves cringe a bit, or a lot. I hope to get back to myself one day soon and break the shackles of what feel like really menial days (Saturn in the 10th - if you know, you know). And maybe add something here of use and / or interest. And maybe not, maybe just something to give some fuel to the haters. Bouan appétite!
